Hello Everyone,
I know that some of you received an e-mail from Alisha and I wanted to give everyone an update.
A couple of years ago my sister was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. This is something that we were concerned about, however it is treatable with medicine. My sister and her husband are what I would call fanatics, and they had someone lay hands on my sister, she was feeling better so they decided that she had been healed and she quit taking her medicine in August. This past Christmas she was diagnosed with Pneumonia and in need of her gall bladder taken out. She went to a specialist on Tuesday who after looking at all of her test decided she never had pneumonia but instead it was her heart. Her heart is currently enlarged and functioning at 10%. Normally your heart functions at 60%. This was very alarming to us and one doctor told us that no one under a 7% makes it and that she needed to be put on the heart transplant list immediately.
However this is not the case. While my sister is very sick, she is not in such a dire place. Her cardioligist says that she responded well to the heart medication the first time and doesn't see why she won't respond the same way the second time. The cardiologist says people fall into 3 different cattegories. 1/3 come through fine, 1/3 stay the same and 1/3 get worse. She will be 40 next week and has a 14 year old at home. We will not know for several months if the medicine is working, so please keep her in your prayers while she is going through this.
Thanks everyone,
Becky
